Abstract

The objective of this research is to critically assess the main models of leadership and participative management, which appear in a significant part of the international and national bibliography that deals with this subject. The study was developed from the bibliographic review of articles and texts related to leadership, participative management and the theory of administration. For its realization, the content analysis methodology was used, which allowed the collection of qualitative data through the application of the ATLAS. ti computer program. The qualitative study served to identify the key conceptual categories that make up a general theoretical model of participative management. From their identification and analysis it was possible to elaborate a conceptual map, which served as a graphic representation of a general theoretical model of participative management in organizations with its main component elements and internal relationships. The study also made it possible to visualize some conceptual limitations linked to the topic of participatory management that must be addressed in future research in specific business contexts.
