Abstract

Entrepreneurship today is an important economic activity for the development of a country. Therefore, it is important to
know the entrepreneurial intention that high school students have. Therefore, an investigation was carried out in the Santa
Isabel canton, Azuay, Ecuador. The study was carried out with a quantitative, descriptive, correlational and transversal
methodology. A 21-question survey was used to collect data from a sample of 281 high school students. This survey was
subjected to an analysis which gave a Cronbach’s Alpha result of 0.915 reliability. The analysis of the data showed that
attitude towards entrepreneurship is an important factor that influences the entrepreneurial intention of students. On the other
hand, motivation towards entrepreneurship did not have a significant effect. These results suggest that educational institutions
should promote a positive attitude towards entrepreneurship in students. This can help foster entrepreneurship and contribute
to the economic development of the country.
