Abstract

This study analyzes the personality factors that influence the entrepreneurial intention of young artisans located in the city of Cuenca, Ecuador. The methodology employed follows a quantitative approach, using documentary and field techniques. A survey was designed based on the theoretical framework, and the statistical analysis was conducted using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method. The hypotheses proposed that self-efficacy, risk propensity, and internal locus of control are predictive variables of entrepreneurial intention. The results obtained from students at the city's Artisan Training Centers indicate that the internal locus of control is the most influential factor, followed by self-efficacy, while risk propensity has a smaller but significant impact. These findings highlight the need for training programs at the centers to strengthen these factors, promote youth entrepreneurial initiatives in artisan work, and preserve the region's cultural heritage
